Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

planning.camp ("we", "us", "our") helps Scout leaders, families, and volunteers discover, plan, and share outdoor activities. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us using the feedback form on the site.

What we collect

Why we collect it

To make the site work (your account, your submissions, your saved favorites), to keep it safe (detecting abuse like spam or fraud), and to improve it (understanding which content helps members). We collect only what we need for these purposes.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. The public content you choose to post — activity ideas, photos, questions, answers — is visible to other visitors as the core purpose of the community requires. We do not share personal account information with advertisers or third parties.

Cookies & analytics

planning.camp uses a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect against fraud. We also use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to count visits; this does not build advertising profiles and is not sold. You can browse without creating an account; most features that require signing in (saving favorites, submitting content) are clearly optional.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you submit. When you upload a photo, we may create a smaller, optimized copy for faster display. When prompted, we ask you only to upload content you have the right to share. You can contact us to remove content you posted.

Children's privacy

planning.camp is intended for adults — Scout leaders, parents, and volunteers — planning activities for youth programs. We ask adults to submit content on behalf of their programs. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your data rights

Depending on where you live (including under applicable US law and GDPR if you are in the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to export a copy of data you provided. To exercise any of these, use the site's feedback form or reach us at the contact in the footer, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We use industry-standard protections: encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, prepared database statements to resist injection, and rate-limiting on login and sign-up endpoints to resist brute-force attacks. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll note the updated date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
